Busy Doing Busy Stuff

Where does the time go???  My last blog was 7/22.  I have been so busy doing nothing I have had no time to blog and not much posting on forums either.  I am down to two forums now; http://www.memorymakersmagazine.com and http://www.fiskateers.com .  On the up-side I am getting good at doing nothing.

I’ve had some bad back problems for about 3 months now, which has involved VA Doctors and some fine meds, and some visits to a local Chiropractor which didn’t really have any positive results.  I just ended up going on line and found some stretching regimens that help quite a bit. Then there were some days of squiring the Queen about in her chariot.  Did you know we have more malls than scrapbook stores around here?  OK maybe it just seems that way.  We have had an inordinate amount of birthdays lately, which seem to eat up a lot of my time, if it weren’t for the cake & ice cream I wouldn’t have gone.

My classes have been going fairly well, I have one more in September.  I am not doing 4th quarter classes, but intend to do a lot more starting next year.

I have managed to work garage saleing into my busy nothing duties.  This past weekend I asked at one garage sale if they had any scrapbooking stuff.  A girl popped up and said she had some rubber stamps.  I asked how much they were and she said maybe 25¢ for the small ones and 50¢ for the medium ones, I said “How much for the whole box?”  She said $20, and I said, “SOLD”.  When I got them home I set them out on my workbench and counted 250 stamps and I think over half of them are unused.  Some of the makers are, Stampin’ Up, Hooks, Lines, & Inkers (clever name), Art Impressions, Rubber Stampede, Hero Arts, DOTS, Uptown Rubber Stamp, and The Rubbernecker (another clever name).  I don’t know how these companies rate in the business, but at what I paid, I’m not too worried if some turn out not so good.  I am now going to mount them to acrylic mounts and store them in 3 ring binders.

I am looking forward to our last Crop-a-Latte meeting of the year.  It’s going to be a long wait until January when we will start again.  Also we have the Creating Keepsakes Convention in November.  I have volunteered to help, but haven’t gotten any reply yet.  I wonder if I should bug them or just wait.  I am not a good waiter, but I’ll try.

I am also now doing “inchies”.  Inchies are like ATC’s only smaller.

I have always liked this little poem by Thena (http://www.memorymakersmagazine.com ) because I can relate to it many times over.

I visited a lovely site today
As cool as it could be
When I tried to register
They already had a “me”

My email address was listed
And they said to please log in
If I would like to visit
And chat with them again.

I know I was there then
And had been there before
But I don’t know when
Or remember what for…

I know I signed up
And then I signed in
Perhaps just to visit
And say hello to a friend.

I know once I logged on
And must have logged out
My email address is on the list
Of that I have no doubt.

But the password now escapes me
And what name did I use
Oh goodness gracious
I’ve got the website blues!
